Happy Women’s Day | 8th March, 2014

We’ve all been wishing each other Happy Women’s Day all this while. But, do we really know from where it originated? The history is vast, but sometime in August 1910, International Women’s Conference was held in Copenhagen and delegates (100 women from 17 countries) gathered to promote equal rights for women. Different dates, worldwide, have been observed as the International Women’s Day since then.

In 1977, the United Nations General Assembly declared March 8 as the International Women’s Day. Since then, it has been celebrated as the UN Day for women’s rights and world peace. Every year, it’s celebrated with a different theme. This year, 2014, the theme is “Equality for Women is Progress For All”.

Every woman has the right to stand up for what she believes in! Let’s mark each and every women’s day with that thought. If you feel something is wrong, raise your voice against it.

Blingstation wishes each one of you a very Happy Women’s Day 🙂

Keep it Blingy!
